Mother and Son team, Minnie Smith and Ron Smith, took a family passion for delicious desserts and homecooking starting Picnics Restaurant and Bakeshop in Asheville, NC. The tradition of gathering to share a nourishing meal with "Love" continues today at Picnics!

Four Generations of baking from scratch began in Gary, Indiana. My grandparents were Croatian, and Mom and I relocated to Miami, FL, prior to moving to Asheville.

Our dream Restaurant was created with partner Alan Lansman in 1995, it has been a wonderful journey!

The concept to serve all our friends a quality home-cooked meal at an affordable price continues. It is a trip down memory lane for most folks. A great feeling of joy abounds at Picnics. Our Tenth year has begun, our passion remains the same!
